Orange
County National Golf Club
Roughly 30 minutes from downtown and even closer to Disney World's
north entrance, Orange County National is situated amid the rolling
farmland and citrus groves of Central Florida. The Panther Lake
Golf Course was the property’s first 18-hole layout, designed
by David Harmon in 1987. The course was routed over 60-feet of elevation
change, and winds through natural oak hammocks, pine forests, scenic
wetlands and glistening freshwater lakes. Panther Lake’s strength
lays it its length (over 7,300 yards) and the diversity of its holes.
Orange County National’s newer 18-hole circuit, Crooked Cat,
is another Harmon design that sports a linksy feel. Native grasses,
large, undulating greens and deep bunkers make for a markedly different
experience.
