Grand
Cypress Resort
The Grand Cypress Resort is a bastion of Orlando golf, boasting
45 Jack Nicklaus designed holes of national repute. The first three
nines – the North, South and East – are vintage Nicklaus
target approach golf. The North/South is the traditional combination,
but the newer East course appeals to weekend warriors with its generous
landing areas and sparse bunkering. The aptly named New Course is
not a description of its chronological creation as compared to the
three other nines at Grand Cypress; rather, it is Nicklaus’
homage to the Old Course at St. Andrews. The Links-style design
is replete with double greens, stone bridges and walls, grassy mounds,
burns and stacked sod wall bunkers.
